Bob Allen praised for supporting events

August 03, 2003

Dear Editor:

On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Kentucky XI Chapter of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club will host the first annual Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Ride to benefit the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation. Each motorcycle operator will pay $20 and each passenger $10. All proceeds will go to the Memorial Foundation and participants will receive a T-shirt and an event pin. Lunch also will be provided.

The ride will organize at the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University at the Kentucky Law Enforcement Complex. This event is to include a Police Cruiser Show and the motorcycle ride. It is a great way for the public to show their support of our police officers who serve us every day. Boyle County has three officers on the memorial itself; Lincoln County, one; and Mercer County, one. There are several more from surrounding counties.

An event of this magnitude takes a great deal of planning and financial support. Our club was at a loss to see where we could get the kind of funding needed to make this ride unforgettable and profitable for the memorial. As have many in the area before us, we turned to Mr. Bob Allen of Bob Allen Motor Mall for help. As he has done for so many, he agreed to sponsor this event. When you look around, be it high schools, Centre College or even the Boyle County Fair, you see Bob Allen as a sponsor and supporter. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Allen and his staff for supporting worthwhile causes in the area. The next time you go to a public event, look and see if you don't see a portion, at the least, being sponsored by Bob Allen Motor Mall.

Again, thank you Mr. Allen.
