Helen D. West

PERRYVILLE - Helen Louise Dean West, 68, of Scrubgrass Road, Mitchellsburg, died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 12, 1934, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late George and Evalena Davis Dean, and the widow of Charles West.

She had worked as a licensed practical nurse at the old Kentucky State Hospital, Eastern State Hospital, and retired in 1997 from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Roehm of Springfield; two sons, Danny and Douglas West, both of Mitchellsburg; two sisters, Lois Preston of Mitchellsburg and Viola Craig of Perryville; a brother, Charles Dean of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Pendygraft.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Johnson. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Saturday.
