Motorcyclist injured on by-pass

August 11, 2003

Danville police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday in an accident on the U.S. 150 by-pass near the Boyle County Fairgrounds.

Assistant Danville Police Chief Jay Newell said Tony Price, 37, of Harrodsburg, was riding north on the by-pass at approximately 5 p.m. when a car apparently pulled out in front of him from the fairgrounds.

Price's motorcycle struck the car in the side, throwing him over the handlebars, Newell said.

Price was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington with serious injuries.

Newell said Price was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The hospital declined to issue an update on his condition Saturday evening.
