Irene C. Abell

LIBERTY - Irene C. Abell, 73, of U.S. 127 South, Dunnville, died Friday at her home.

Born May 18, 1930, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Daisy Hatchel.

Survivors include her husband, Buford Abell; a son, Bill Coffman of Liberty; a daughter, Frances Rubarts of Dunnville; three step sons, Victor Abell, Leonard Abell and Charles Abell, all of Campbellsville; one brother, Jerry Hatchel of Lebanon; three sisters, Corene Elliot of Indianapolis, Helen Cochran of Danville and Patricia King of Bativia, Ohio; nine grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at McKinney Brown Funeral Home by Jim Seabolt. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday.

William R. Allender

HARRODSBURG - William Robert Allender of Cincinnati, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday. Arrangements are incomplete at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.



Mamie R. Barker

LANCASTER - Services for Mamie Ross Barker, 92, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.

Born January 21, 1911, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Cordelia Hollingsworth Ross. She was a retired homemaker and member of New Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Everett Gene Barker of Danville; seven daughters, Geneva VanArsdall and Betty Jane Pingleton, both of Burgin, Pauline Bolton of Lancaster, Valrie McMullen of Georgia, Rita Coulter of Stanford, Shirley Daly of Parksville and Barbara Vanderpool of Salvisa; two brothers, Sam Ross of Lancaster and Bruce Ross of Norfork, Va.; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cammle Ford, Keith Bolton, Craig Daly, Scott Barker, Barry T. Bolton, Chan Daly, Roger VanArsdall and Michael VanArsdall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Shay Pingleton, Lezli Edwards, Joel Ford, Kelly Ford, Bryan Bolton, Penny Patterson, Roxane Kephart and Sherrie Cocanougher.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Steven C. May

LANCASTER - Services for Steven Coy May, 48, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Barry Jeffries. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

He died Wednesday at home.

Born August 7, 1954, in Danville, he was the son of Virginia Watkins May of Lancaster and the late Billy Joe May. He was a retired farmer and member of Lancaster Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dwayne May of Berea and Travis May of Fort Campbell; and two brothers, Jeff May and Eric May, both of Lancaster.

Pallbearers will be Billy May, Timothy May, Gene Kelsay, Wade Burton, Lee Christopher and Caywood Metcalf.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may go to the American Heart Association.

Harold "Ray" Watts

WAYNESBURG - Services for Harold Raymond "Ray" Watts, 63, of 309 Herndon Avenue, Stanford, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by David Gambrel. Burial will be at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

He died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.

Born April 24, 1940, in Pleasant Point, he was the son of the late Woodrow "Woody" Wilson and Leona R. Fields Watts. He was a retired carpenter and served with the U.S. Marines during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Survivors include his companion, Betty Roberts of Stanford; two sons, Gary Ray Watts of Berea and Steve Watts of Indianapolis; a daughter, Theresa Holman of Yukon, Okla.; two brothers, David Watts of Stanford and Wade Watts of Kings Mountain; and five sisters, Gwen Hawk and Denise Jenkins, both of Stanford, Deanie Snow of Kings Mountain, Joanne Greer of Tampa, Fla., and Sally Miller of Waynesburg.

Pallbearers will be Mike Edwards, David Wayne Watts, Roger Johnson, Dwane Mastin, Tommy Hilborn, Paul Shelton, Madison Edwards and Darren Jenkins.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Helen D. West

PERRYVILLE - Services for Helen Louise Dean West, 68, of Scrubgrass Road, Mitchellsburg, will be 2 p.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Johnson. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 12, 1934, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late George and Evalena Davis Dean. She was the widow of Charles West.

She worked as a licensed practical nurse at the old Kentucky State Hospital and Eastern State Hospital and retired in 1997 from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Roehm of Springfield; two sons, Danny and Douglas West, both of Mitchellsburg; two sisters, Lois Preston of Mitchellsburg and Viola Craig of Perryville; a brother, Charles Dean of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Josh Eisenbeis, Bobby Brady, Jay Crowe II, Mark King, Roger Roehm and Ben Campbell.
