The Danville Board of Education has given Superintendent Bob Rowland "superior" ratings in all areas of his job performance.
Vice Chairman Steve Becker gave a report on the board's annual evaluation of Rowland at the board's Monday night meeting. Becker said the Danville district enjoyed an "extraordinary" year in 2002-03 and gave credit for the "continued growth" in academics, athletics and other aspects of the district's overall performance to Rowland's leadership and to all the faculty, students, parents and alumni.
Rowland, who had served for several years as principal of Danville High School, has been superintendent since the 1998-99 school year.
In other recognitions, the board honored longtime Bate Middle School art teacher Cathy Harris and Hogsett Elementary School technology resource teacher Patti Rowland. Both teachers received the Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching Award in May.
