Mark Pendygraft, 32, of Somerset died Monday. Arrangements are incomplete at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

Florence E. Coffman

LIBERTY - Florence Elaine Coffman, 76, of Bradfordsville died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Feb. 17, 1927, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edith Premis Riedi.

She was a homemaker, a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and the widow of Bradley Coffman.

Survivors include a daughter, Edith M. Thomas of Elkhorn; a son, Paul Coffman of Bradfordsville; a brother, Walter J. Riedi of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. G.W. Smith. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery.


Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Velva S. Genton

CRAB ORCHARD - Velva Bee Simpson Genton, 84, of Norwood, Ohio, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Wednesday in Ohio.

Born July 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Daisy Hoskins Simpson. She was the widow of Amie Genton.

Survivors include a son, Rick Genton of Norwood; a stepson, Herman Genton of Lockwood, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Wanda Thompson and Lucille Benge, both of Crab Orchard; a sister, Jewell Brown of Crab Orchard; three grandchildren; and 15 stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Irene Simpson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by Anthony Genton. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Friday.

Linda F. Owens

LIBERTY - Linda Faye Owens, 54, of Nicholasville died Monday at her home.

Born Aug. 23, 1948, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Ruth Bowman Campbell of Blandchester, Ohio, and the late Isaiah Campbell.

She was a factory worker and a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Nicholasville.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Owens of Nicholasville; two daughters, Angela Hobbs of Nicholasville and Tonya Williams of Berea; two sisters, Karen Balon of Batavia, Ohio, and Connie Howard of Amelia, Ohio; four brothers, David Campbell of Hamilton, Ohio, Robert Campbell of Tampa, Fla., Donald Campbell of Blandchester and Roger Campbell of Milford, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by David L. Roscoe. Burial will be in Trace Fork Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Virginia I. Shadoan

SCIENCE HILL - Virginia Irene "Granny Shad" Shadoan, 84, of Eubank died Saturday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Born July 25, 1919, in Somerset, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Ida L. Freeman Hall.

She was a homemaker, a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the widow of Joe Shadoan.

Survivors include three sons, James L. Shadoan of Science Hill and Ronald E. and Jerry M. Shadoan, both of Somerset; two daughters, Janet A. Godbey of Flora, Ind., and Helen M. Collins of Eubank; a brother, George Laskey of Ohio ; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by four infant children.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home by Don Jones. Burial will be in Bee Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Gilbert Stempfly

STANFORD - Gilbert Stempfly, 82, of Waynesburg died Monday at his home. He was the husband of Selma Stempfly. Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

W.C. Sudduth

FRANKFORT - W.C. "Doug" Sudduth, 73, of Frankfort died Sunday at Beverly Health and Rehab Center.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late James and Gladys Goins Sudduth.

He was a retired maintenance technician and a member of Beechridge Baptist Church. He was a Marine Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Collins Sudduth of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Angel Miller of Harrodsburg and Donna K. Crim of Frankfort; a brother, Calvin Sudduth of Frankfort; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.


Kevin L. Gilpin

LIBERTY - Services for Kevin Lee Gilpin, 17, of Russell Springs will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Trace Fork Cemetery.

Born Sept. 11, 1978, in Liberty, he was the son of Gary L. Gilpin of Russell Springs and Georgeann Sue Crew Warren of Glendale, Ariz.

Other survivors include his stepfather, Michael Warren of Glendale; a sister, Jessica M. Gilpin of Russell Springs; a stepsister, Elice Warren of Glendale; grandparents, Audrey Gilpin of Russell Springs and Lloyd Crew of Middleburg.

Visitation is after noon Saturday.

Earl F. Jenkins

STANFORD - Services for Earl Foster "Billy Gum" Jenkins, 85, of Baughman Avenue, Danville, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Revs. Ernest Martin and Doug Wesley. Burial will be in Fairview Church Cemetery.

He died Sunday at his home.

Born May 30, 1918, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Arthur T. and Myrtle Wall Jenkins.

He was a retired employee of Corning Glass Works in Danville and owner of the former Cold Springs Inn and gift shop in Hall's Gap. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Danville.

Survivors include his wife, Ines Owens Jenkins; two daughters, Barbara J. Randolph of Moreland and Debbie J. Cook of Danville; two sisters, Frances Anderson and Aletha Newton, both of Danville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Randolph, David Cook, Joshua Sallee, Charles and Bob Newton and Harold Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are members of the men's Sunday school class at Calvary Baptist Church, Russell Burton, Junior Davidson, Richard Otto and Cecil Jenkins.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home.
