Man charged with bootlegging:

STANFORD - A Lincoln County man was arrested on a bootlegging charge Monday morning.

Leonard Lee Crawley, 61, allegedly had about 13 cases of Old Milwaukee Beer at a residence on Ky. 198. Lincoln County Sheriff Shelby Lakes said sheriff's deputies searched the residence after police found grounds for a search warrant after a traffic stop.

Crawley was charged with illegal sale or giving of alcohol in a dry territory. He was fined $100 plus court costs and released.

One injured in traffic accident:

Two vehicles merging onto Hustonville Road from the bypass collided Monday, sending one person to the hospital.

Danville police said a 1996 Nissan driven by Cory Shepherd, 20, 114 Mobile Drive, entered the merge lane behind a 1990 Jeep Cherokee driven by Melissa Piscatelli, 23, 121 East Grubbs Lane. Both vehicles stopped due to traffic, and then Shepherd began to merge and struck Piscatelli's vehicle in the rear.

A passenger in Shepherd's vehicle, John Mattingtly, 18, 4245 Hustonville Road, was transported by Boyle Emergency Medical Service to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with possible injuries. Officer Jeff Stith investigated.
