The Danville viaduct is expected to be open to traffic late next week, but the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet expects work will continue until the end of September.
Gov. Paul Patton and Secretary of Transportation James Codell will officially dedicate the viaduct at 10 a.m. Sept. 2.
The re-paving of Main and Maple streets also is nearly complete.
The paving involves about one mile beginning at Third and Main streets and ending at Maple Street and Hillcrest Drive.
The work was part of Kentucky's regular repaving schedule that is awarded and done usually about the same time everywhere, said David Thacker, information officer for the cabinet.
The $151,489 project is contracted to The Allen Company of Winchester.
