CAMPBELLSVILLE - Danville got a hat trick from Alex Meckes and rolled past Taylor County 6-2 Saturday.

The Admirals (2-1) outshot Taylor (1-2) 33-4 in the game, and Cardinals goalkeeper Sabrina Gribbins had 18 saves on the day.

"She did a heck of a job today," Danville coach Marty Sullivan said. "We had plenty of opportunities and their keeper really kept them in the game."

Danville led 3-1 at halftime with goals by Alyssa Trueblood, Meckes and Krystal Jackson. In the second half, Meckes scored twice more and Jackson added another goal.

Meckes and Jackson each had one assist as well. Beth Gooch also had an assist on Meckes' last goal.

"This was a really good effort," Sullivan said. "We had some letdowns, but this early in the season that's to be expected.

"Sometimes we look extremely good and sometimes we look like it's the third game of the season. But we gave a good effort and we came out really pushing the ball into their end from the beginning."

All 19 Danville players saw action in the game.

Jackson and Liz Ruth combined for three saves in goal for Danville.

The Admirals' next game is Tuesday at Garrard County.
