Cub Scouts host Back to Scouting night:

Cub Scouts Pack 326 will host a Scout recruitment meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Elementary School. A new Forkland pack, based at the Forkland Community Center, will also be recruiting. Boyle County boys in the first through fifth grades are eligible to join the year-round family program that teaches leadership and character skills through activities, projects and family fun.

Activities throughout the year include campouts, a Pinewood Derby, and a conservation clean-up. Activities kick off Saturday with a group outing to a Lexington Legends baseball game in Lexington.

MedSource offers free cholesterol screenings:

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center will offer free cholesterol screenings from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 2 at MedSource, 326 W. Walnut St. Appointments are not necessary.
