Nesbitt, Ads defeat Mercer

Staton Nesbitt shot 4-under-par 32 to lead the Danville boys to a 17-stroke victory over Mercer County on Tuesday at Harrodsburg.

Ben Fuqua was right behind Nesbitt at 33 for Danville, which was playing at Bright Leaf Golf Course for the second time in seven days.

Danville posted a four-man team score of 166, while Mercer County was at 183.

Ben Hastie shot 48 for Danville, Matthew Bibb shot 53 and Patrick Yankey shot 55.

Taylor County 151, Boyle County 160, Campbellsville 170, Russell County 171 - At Campbellsville, Blake Jones shot 37 as Boyle finished second in a four-team match at Campbellsville Country Club.

Boyle, the runner-up in the 5th Region last year, posted a four-man score of 160 at the site of next month's regional tournament.


Taylor County, led by Jeffrey Gumm's match-best score of 35, was in first place at 151.

Dusty Pollard and Clay Carter each shot 41 for Boyle, Josh Chester shot 42 and Patrick Horn shot 47.

East Jessamine 178, Harrodsburg 185 - At Nicholasville, Johnny Knegel's 40 led East Jessamine to a seven-stroke win at Connemara Golf Course.

Noah Burton shot 43 to lead Harrodsburg, Brandon Lay shot 46, Hunter Burton shot 47 and Nathan Beatty shot 49.

Kyle Dunaher shot 42 for East Jessamine, Bryan Boyle shot 45 and Koby Rankin shot 51.
