Mercer boys defeat Harrodsburg, Burgin

HARRODSBURG - The Mercer County boys won a three-team match with Harrodsburg and Burgin on Wednesday at Bright Leaf Golf Course.

Mercer had a four-person score of 155, Harrodsburg was second at 186 and Burgin finished third with a 211.

Will Davis of Mercer had the low score with a 35. Nick Patterson shot a 37 for the Scotties, Mike Killon had a 40 and Andrew Yeast had a 43.

For Harrodsburg, Noah Burton and Hunter Burton each carded 39s. Brandon Lay followed with a 45 and Brenan Short shot a 63.

Sean Bottoms led Burgin with a 46, Bobby Wylie shot a 50, Ben Miller shot a 54 and Adam Hartman shot a 61.


Lincoln County 155, East Jessamine 181 - At Nicholasville, Taylor Hafley's 37 led the Patriots to victory at Connemara Golf Links.

Aaron Anderson carded a 38 for Lincoln, David Grigson had a 39 and Chris Carter had a 41. Craig Noland shot a 43 and Gatlin Greer had a 45.

East Jessamine was led by Johnny Knegel with a 39.


Boyle County 185, Frankfort 237 - At Danville, all four Boyle scorers carded lower scores than any Frankfort golfer in a big victory at Old Bridge Golf Club.

Amber Baker of Boyle had the low score of the day with a 42. Katie Layfield had a 45 and Stephanie Elks and Carol Ann Buchanan each carded a 49. Emily Bryant had a 64 and Katherine Rowland had a 66.

Frankfort was led by Lindley Craycraft and Katie Halloran, who each shot a 55.

Danville's two golfers also competed, and Christina Hill and Anne Montgomery both shot 43.
