HUSTONVILLE - A 12-year-old Hustonville boy sustained multiple injuries Thursday after his motor scooter was reportedly struck by a truck on Ky. 698 east of McKinney.
Levi W. King was driving east on the right shoulder of the road when Charles W. Moore, driver of the 1982 Chevrolet truck, attempted to pass the scooter, according to state police. King reportedly turned left into the path of the Moore and was struck, sustaining multiple injuries.
Personnel from Stanford Emergency Medical Service and the McKinney Fire Department were on the scene assisting the McKinney Area Rescue Squad. The boy was treated at the scene and airlifted to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to police.
