LIBERTY - The Casey County Agricultural Diversification Program has received $100,000 in cost-share funds for farm producers in the county.
The funds are available for vegetable and herb production; fruit and sweet sorghum production (excluding wine grapes); production of ornamental horticulture products, greenhouse construction or conversion for horticulture enterprise; bees and small animal production such as rabbits, pastured poultry, sheep and fowl; and production of aquaculture, silvaculture, equine, direct-to-consumer livestock, and dairy (bovine and goats).
Applicants can apply for a maximum of $5,000 per farm operation or 50 percent of costs, whichever is less. Farmers may apply for funds in more than one eligible activity.
Information on application forms and other details are available at the Casey County Cooperative Extension Service office on U.S. 127 South. Deadline for applications in this funding cycle is Nov. 7.
