LIBERTY - A Casey County man has been charged with murder in the death of a pedestrian, state police said.
Brent Wall, 40, of Liberty was charged Sunday with the murder of Esaul Hernandez, 19, of Liberty, after Wall's 1986 GMC allegedly struck Hernandez as he was walking along Ky. 1649. Hernandez was pronounced dead by Casey County Coroner Tommy Clark.
Deputy Coroner Betty Clark said Hernandez was pronounced dead at 2306 Poplar Hill Road where the body had been taken by friends. She said Hernandez was reportedly walking home, and when his friends came home and he was not there, they went looking for him.
The cause of death has not been determined pending an autopsy scheduled today in Frankfort. Clark said they were called to the scene about 5 a.m.
