Rite Aid employee arrested on theft, drug charges
LANCASTER - A Stanford woman and employee of the Rite Aid store in the Pleasant Retreat shopping center is accused of stealing drugs from the store. According to the police report, Marjorie Shangraw, 39, of 3960 Ky 590 was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance second-degree, and theft of a controlled substance after being arrested on Aug. 20.
The report states that upon her opening the store, Ms. Shangraw allegedly gained entrance into the store's safe and took the pharmacy key and entered the pharmacy unlawfully. She is accused of taking 9 to 15 Percocet tablets. After being advised of her rights, Ms. Shangraw stated the pills were in her purse, according to the police report. After gaining consent to search, the pills were found in the inner side zip pocket of her purse, the report states. |9/3/03***
