LIBERTY - Casey County's tax rate will remain the same as last year, according to Judy Allen, judge-executive pro-tem.
The Fiscal Court voted Thursday evening to set the rate at 6.8 cents per $100 of property valuation for personal and real property, and 8.5 cents per $100 of valuation on motor crafts and vehicles.
The action came after a public hearing to get comments on the tax rate.
No one from the public attended the hearing.
The court also accepted bids for bridge beams and labor and supplies for janitorial services at the new judicial center.
A $22,790 bid from Prestress Co. for beams was approved. Phil's Vac Shop in Liberty got the contract for the janitorial services, subject to approval by the state Administrative Office of the Courts. The bid was $3,805 per month.
The next meeting will be 5 p.m. Oct. 6.
