LIBERTY - The switchover in operations Monday at Casey County Hospital is expected to be smooth, said Administrator Rusty Tungate.
The hospital board agreed last month to resume operation of the facility, which has been leased to Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia for seven years.
Westlake, however, will continue to help manage the facility. Westlake and the Casey hospital will share department heads, but the local hospital board will be in control of operations.
He said little change will be noticeable. The medical staff will remain the same.
On Tuesday, the hospital board approved new medical staff bylaws and agreed to take bids for a new CT scanner.
The board also set the annual Health Fair for 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at the hospital.
The fair will offer blood tests for $12 and an assortment of other medical checks.
The board adopted the same tax rates as last year: 67 cents per $100 of property valuation on real property and 85 cents per $100 property valuation on automobiles and water craft. The rates will generate the same amount of revenue as last year.
