Benefit set in Junction City for burn victim:

JUNCTION CITY - A gospel singing will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Mount Freeman Baptist Church, 6109 White Oak Road, to help with finances for Chan Daley.

Daly is unemployed and has no medical insurance to pay his hospital bills. He spent several days in a burn unit at a Louisville hospital.

Singers will be Jerry Finley, J.R. Fields, Lifted Praise, and Still Voice. Refreshments will be served at intermission.

Chili supper set at Boyle Middle School:

The Boyle County Middle School football team will hold a chili supper and silent auction 5-9 p.m. Friday in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $3 at the door.


Items needed to help fire victims:

JUNCTION CITY - A shower will be held Sunday to help victims of the recent Junction City apartment building fire. Household items and furniture, including items for babies and small children (no clothing), may be taken this week to the fellowship hall at Junction City First Baptist Church. Four apartments were burned in the fire. For more information, call (859) 854-3253 or (859) 236-3576.

Free meals available for children, seniors:

Several area programs are participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program administered by the Kentucky Department of Education.

Meals will be served at no separate charge to enrolled participants. Application forms and documentation of eligibility must be provided.

New group sets first meeting:

Whitfield rep to be in Hustonville:

HUSTONVILLE - A field representative from the office of U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky., will be at City Hall from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Sandy Simpson, eastern regional field representative, will assist residents seeking federal assistance or who have problems involving federal agencies.

Whitfield can assist with social security, Medicare, veterans benefits or other federal programs or issues.

Cartersville fish fry is Saturday:

CARTERSVILLE - Cartersville Ruritan Club will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Cartersville Ruritan Park on Harmons Lick Road, one-fourth mile off Ky. 954, in Garrard County. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Rain will cancel the event.


West T. Hill Community Theatre's building on Larrimore Lane is owned by West T. Hill Community Theatre Inc., through its patrons' contributions, according to Karen L. Logue, managing director of the theater. Logue is not a member of the board of directors. The information was incorrect in Monday's paper.

Boyle County Board of Education - 6:30 p.m. Thursday for a special meeting at Boyle County High School to discuss student expulsion.

Danville Cemetery Committee - 9 a.m. Tuesday in the city hall conference room to discuss cemetery guidelines.

Danville City Manager Screening Committee -10 a.m. Tuesday in the city hall conference room. The agenda includes the city manager ranking process and an executive session.

Danville-Boyle County Parks and Recreation Board - 4 p.m. Wednesday at city hall.
