LANCASTER - Fourteen-year CBS news veteran and author David Dick will be the guest speaker for the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce Farm-City Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in the high school cafeteria.
Dick, a Kentucky native, currently writes for Kentucky Living and Appalachian Life magazines. He is a featured speaker for the Kentucky Humanities Council.
Dick graduated from the University of Kentucky and was inducted into the UK Hall of Distinguished Alumni and the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame. He holds honorary doctorates from Cumberland College and Eastern Kentucky University.
He is married to the former Eulalie Cumbo and has two sons, Ravy Bradford Dick and Sam Dick, a news anchor for WKYT-TV in Lexington. David Dick lives at Plum Creek in Bourbon County on land purchased by his family in 1799.
