The STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series will be at the Legendary Ponderosa Speedway here Friday for the third time this year for the fourth annual running of the Hugh "Junebug" Rowland Memorial Race.
The event will pay $3,000 to the winner and $1,500 to the second-place finisher.
In previous races this year at Ponderosa, Johnny Wheeler has won each time. Previous winners of the memorial race are Dustin Neat, Jay Mobley and Don O'Neal.
Gates will open Friday at 4 p.m. with time trials at 7:30.
On Saturday, the series will head to Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown for the "Bluegrass 50." The 50-lap feature will pay $5,000 to win.
This will be the final major race before the $60,000 to win Dirt Track World Championship race at Bardstown Oct. 18 and 19.
