Junior Maggie Ray had three assists as the Centre College women's soccer team defeated Transylvania 3-0 Wednesday, the Colonels' first win over Transy in more than three years.
Centre (3-0-1) scored its first goal with 20 minutes to play in the first half when senior Katherine Abbott scored off Ray's assist. Ten minutes later, freshman Kim Lacy took a Ray assist and put it in for a 2-0 halftime lead.
Centre's final goal came 10 minutes into the second half on a score by junior Lindsay Yeakel off Ray's assist.
"I'm very pleased with the results of this game as well as how we played and our effort," Centre coach Gina Nicoletti said.
Centre had 13 shots to Transy's 5. Colonels goalkeeper Jessica Chisley had four saves.
The Colonels travel to play Thomas More Saturday.
