Superintendent Pam Rogers told the Boyle Board of Education Thursday the system is moving along “on schedule” to acquire from Centre College 27 acres adjoining Boyle’s main campus on Perryville Road.
Rogers said a survey has been completed, and representatives of the district have met with Centenary United Methodist Church, which plans to purchase about five acres.
“We have made Dr. (John) Roush aware of where we are in the process,” said Rogers, referring to Centre’s president.
“He will have to talk with his board in October, but right now it seems we are moving along on the process.”
Rogers also updated board members on the recent lawsuit filed by the Council for Better Education against the Kentucky General Assembly over educational funding levels. Boyle County is a dues-paying member of the council and is party to the lawsuit.
