Nursing Leadership Program - Begins at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at Bright Leaf Golf Resort in Harrodsburg. All-day workshop on the Kentucky Nursing Laws and an overview of the Kentucky Board of Nursing, sponsored by District 9, Kentucky Nurses Association. Topics include continuing education/compliance, orientation of graduate nurses, supervision and delegation of nursing acts, patient abandonment, scope of practice determination, and prescription authority. Speakers include Bernadette Sutherland, nursing practice consultant; Nathan Goldman, lawyer and general counsel; Sandy Johanson, manager of Investigation and Discipline Branch; and Paula Schenk, alternative program manager.
