My suggestion is that Mayor Bowling move his Arby's to the Save-A-Lot property. This could work on so many levels. He would no longer have to worry about a conflict of interest at the Danville Manor entrance. People living and working in the center of town would have a nice fast-food place to go to. Students at Centre would have a place to go to for their late-night munchies. People who work downtown wouldn't mind spending part of their lunchtime at the drive-through, if they didn't have to "drive through" the traffic on the south side to get there. And, as far as I can tell, there would be no real competition for the fast-food dollars downtown.
By doing this, the mayor could go ahead and concede to do the study for a safer entrance to Danville Manor. If we do this, I hope the people who do the study aren't the same ones who are telling us that the increase in drunk driving arrests is not related to the new availability of alcohol in town.
