Teen queens named in Casey

LIBERTY - Charissa Gosser was named Miss Casey Teen, and Brittany Meece was named Teen Apple Festival at pageants held Monday in conjunction with the Casey County Apple Festival.

Thirty-six girls competed.

Gosser, 14, is the daughter of Jeff and Tonia Gosser of Liberty. She received a crown, $50, bouquet of flowers, sash and silver.

Corey Brown, 15, daughter of Rob and Jamie Atwood of Liberty, was first runner-up, and Emily Taylor, 15, daughter of Bobby and Joann Taylor of Liberty, was second runner-up in the Miss Casey County Teen Pageant.

Meece, Miss Apple Festival Teen, is the 14-year-old daughter of Randall and Tonya Meece of Jamestown. She was presented a crown, $50, bouquet of flowers, sash, silver and a gift certificate.

First runner-up was Rachel Rodgers, 15, daughter of Doug and Patty Rodgers of Campbellsville, and second runner-up was McKenzie Robinson, 14, daughter of Vickie and David Bradshaw of Campbellsville.

The Junior Apple Princess Pageant for 9- to 10-year-olds will be 6 p.m. today, and the Apple Princess Pageant for 11- to 12-year-olds is set for 8 p.m. today at Casey County High School gymnasium. Admission is charged at the door.
