Danville schools plan early release day

The second early release day for Danville schools will be Friday.

Classes at Toliver, Jennie Rogers and Hogsett elementaries and Bate Middle School will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m., while classes at Danville High School will be dismissed at noon.

Lunch will be provided to all elementary students prior to dismissal. Bate Middle School will provide brunch, and Danville High School will provide breakfast only.

Bus transportation will be provided for all students.

Liberty woman

reappointed to board

Lydia Sweeney Coffey, Liberty, representing elementary teachers, has been reappointed to the Educational Professional Standards Board for a term expiring Sept. 18, 2007, Gov. Paul Patton announced.


Parks program

ponsors Survivor

Survivor 2003 is held at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Millennium Park.

Participants receive a tribe bandana, and everyone who survives will receive a Survivor T-shirt. Survivor 2003 includes an outdoor aerobic workout, games, relays, and individual and group challenges. Auction and chili

BURGIN - Burgin Independent School will have an auction and chili supper from 5-8:30 p.m. Friday in the cafeteria. Auction items were donated. Proceeds will be used for a senior scholarship and other PTO projects. The chili supper is sponsored by the cheerleaders. For more information, call (859) 748-9320.

to reunite

Danville High School's class of 1973 is celebrating its 30th reunion. The class will attend the homecoming football game in Admiral Stadium Oct. 3 and plans a dinner for 6 p.m. Oct. 4. Boyle courthouse

to close for funeral

Boyle County Courthouse will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in observance of Joe Clarke's funeral.
