Sandra Horn

Sandra Horn, 48, of Wells Landing Road, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Michael Horn. Arrangements are incomplete at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

Rex D. Edwards Jr.

Rex Dunlap Edwards Jr., 59, of Rolling Hills, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born May 30, 1944, in Danville, he was the son of the late Anne O. Penn Edwards and Rex D. Edwards Sr. He was a former employee of WHIR radio station, owner of former Edwards Real Estate and Auction Company, former assistant football coach at Centre College under Coach Joe McDaniel, former employee of Watson's Department Store, former Little League football coach, member of the Danville Country Club and former member of the Danville Board of Parks and Recreation. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Edwards; a daughter, Allison Federspiel of Lexington; a son, Jeff Edwards of Lexington; a step-daughter, Cathy Harper of Indianapolis; and a sister, Nancy McDermitt of Nicholasville.


Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Beningfield officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may go to Centenary United Methodist Church.

Cleo L. Richardson

Cleo L. Richardson, 74, of Martin Luther King Boulevard, died Thursday in Danville.

Born Feb. 2, 1929, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ella Letcher and the widow of Orestes Richardson Sr. She was the retired director of care at Fellowship Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the auxiliary club. She was a graduate of the Danville School of Practical Nursing.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Doris Coulter of Lexington and Frances Miley of Cleveland; three sons, Orestes Richardson Jr. of Nicholasville, Keith Richardson of Cleveland, and William Richardson of Danville; a sister, Mabie Letcher of Danville; and several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Hill. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Norman Letcher, Cornell Letcher, Chester Kavanaugh, Robert Trumbo, Paul Lewis and David Kinley.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today.

Edwin T. Elliott

HARRODSBURG - Edwin T. Elliott, 87, of Ott Elliott Lane, Harrodsburg, died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born July 23, 1916, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Price and Mary Catherine Elliott. He was a retired Army Lt. Colonel, having served a total of 28 years including service during WW II and the Korean War. He was a retired Harrodsburg postmaster, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Harrodsburg Baptist Foundation, Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Mercer Masonic Lodge 777 F&AM, Olieka Shrine Temple and past president of Kentucky Postmasters Association.

Survivors include his wife, Leona Devine Elliott; two sons, Don Elliott of Harrodsburg and Ott Elliott of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Eunice Tyler of Danville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin T. Elliott Jr.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rick Snyder and Eddie Russell officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with full military rites.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Elliott Jr., Calvin Wiley, Bob Trisler, Ed Berg, Tom Matne and Taylor Elliot.

Honorary pallbearers are current and former members of the Harrodsburg Lions Club and Osby Jones.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted tonight at the chapel.

Memorials may go to Disabled American Veterans, Lions Club Eye Foundation or Mercer County Senior Citizens.

Dora M. Lowe

HARRODSBURG - Dora M. Lowe, 73, of Cardwell Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Friday at the Johnson-Mathers Nursing home in Carlisle.

Born June 23, 1930, in Cornishville, she was the daughter of the late Finis J. and Cora G. Sims. She was a sales clerk at J.J. Newberry's and the Ben Franklin Store. She was a member of Southside Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Lowe of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Glenna Norton of Carlisle; two sisters, Laura Sims Wright of Mercer County and Mary Sims Easterling of Middletown, Ohio; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Elwood Norton and John Davis Lane. Burial will be in Cornishville Christian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Lowe, Clyde Sims Jr., Danny Satterly, Troy Goins, Craig Carol, Ralph K. Easterling, Larry Camic and Homer J. Easterling.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Memorials may go to the Cornishville Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
