Commission meeting won't air

The Sept. 22 Danville City Commission meeting, with open captions, will not air Wednesday on the local cable access channel. The Oct. 13 meeting will air at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 and will be aired with open captions Oct. 22.

Flu shots offered in Lincoln

STANFORD - Lincoln County Health Department will give flu shots throughout October. Call (606) 365-3106 for an appointment.

Because diabetes can make the immune system more susceptible to severe cases of the flu, people with diabetes are almost three times more likely to die with influenza or pneumonia. Everyone with diabetes - even pregnant women - should get a yearly flu shot. The vaccine is fully covered under Medicare Part B.

Forest fire hazard season begins

FRANKFORT - The fall forest fire hazard season begins Wednesday and runs through Dec. 15. During this time, it is illegal to burn anything in or within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland except between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. For more information, call the Kentucky Division of Forestry at 1-800-866-0555.
