LANCASTER - Two people have been arrested and charged with breaking in a freezer at Diary Queen. "That's great," said General Manager Sheila Foister upon learning that police arrested an adult and a juvenile with the crime.
"We want them prosecuted to the fullest extent," she said.
Foister said the thieves got into the freezer by breaking the hinges on the outside door. The break in took place sometime after the store closed Wednesday night, she said. "They stole hundreds of dollars worth of food. Ham, bacon, chicken and orange juice," she said. Foister estimates about $500 to $600 in damage was done to the freezer. The business does have insurance to cover the damages, she said.
Garrard County Sheriff Ron Wardrip said that an adult and a juvenile were arrested Thursday night by a deputy and Lancaster city police. No other information was available from Lancaster police this morning.
