Cecil E. Lawrence

STANFORD - Cecil Eugene Lawrence, 68, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday at his home.

Born Jan. 29, 1935, in Rockcastle County, he was the son of the late George Preston and Mary DeBorde Lawrence. He was a plant manager and member of Stanford Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Lawrence of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Sandra Gregg of Oklahoma and Kim Gaffney of Cincinnati; two brothers, Ronald Lawrence and Norman Lawrence, both of Stanford; three sisters, Coleen Cain, Evelen Elliott and Mary C. Singleton, all of Stanford; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his nephews. The honorary pallbearer will be Paul S. DeBorde.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Walter Bowlen. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.


Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to Dix River Pentecostal Church.

Thomas Mitchell

WINCHESTER - Thomas Richard Mitchell, 69, of Winchester, formerly of Danville, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Robert Floyd and Icie Woods Mitchell. He was a retired manager for BellSouth, a member of the Pioneers of BellSouth, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Bell Point Baptist Church in Frankfort.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Mitchell; a daughter, Vickie Means of Winchester; two sons, Thomas R. Mitchell Jr. and Richard S.Mitchell, both of Winchester; two sisters, Ellen Lile and Betty Cocohorn, both of Frankfort; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be at Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to Clark County Home Health.

Butch Perry

WAYNESBURG - Butch Perry, 53, of Walltown, died Saturday at Stanford House Nursing Home.

Born Dec. 27, 1949, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Bessie Snow Perry. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a brother, Marvin Perry of Kings Mountain.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral home. Burial will be in K.P. Hall Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Roy Young

STANFORD - Roy Young, 81, of Stanford, husband of Norma Young, died Friday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete at Spurlin Funeral Home.


Sally Pankey

HARRODSBURG - Services for Sally Pankey, 61, of Lancaster, are 1:30 p.m. today at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by Keith Weldon and Larry Harris. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 21, 1941, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Ella Mae Simpson Harris. She was a beautician for 43 years and most recently worked for the Pelo, Pelo, Pelo Beauty Salon of Danville. She was a graduate of the Durham School of Beauty and a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Alford K. Pankey; a son, Travis K. Pankey of Lancaster; three sisters, Julie Lowis of Taylorsville, Ill., and Eva Martin and Rosetta Cochran, both of Stanford; six brothers, John Harris, Eddie Harris and Alvin Harris, all of Taylorsville, Ill., Kirby Harris of Stringtown, Ill., Jimmy Harris of Assumption, Ill., and Ralph Harris of Stanford; and a grandson.

Visitation is prior to 1:30 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Memorials may go to Buena Vista Baptist Church Building Fund.
