LIBERTY - Casey County Sheriff's Department is investigating a rash of break-ins in the Indian Creek community.
Ambrose Wilkinson of Indian Creek Road told Deputy Chad Weddle that someone kicked the back door open at his residence Friday night. The house was ransacked and only a half carton of cigarettes were reported missing.
Phillip Frederick, who lives a mile from the Wilkinson residence, reported Saturday morning to Sheriff Jerry Coffman that someone broke in a vacant house he owns. The intruder took clothing, pillows, quilts and blankets.
James Blakey of Ky. 501, two miles from Indian Creek Road, told Coffman Monday that someone broke in his house between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday. Taken were a self-propelled push lawnmower, two kerosene heaters, weed cutters and a set of speakers.
