As a taxpayer, I helped pay for the cruiser on which the officer displayed his symbol of faith. Last year (and every year) I pay more than enough taxes to fund the amount of cruiser material occupied by the officer's "Jesus fish." The way I see it, since I helped pay for that cruiser, part of it is mine. Therefore, that officer has my express permision as a taxpayer and American citizen to display the symbol of his faith. And just so there is no question about the way I feel, I would not have been offended if it had been a Star of David, a crescent and star, or any other religious symbol.
I am positive the officer was not trying to mix government and religion. That was not his intent. He was only exercising his Constitutional rights to express through public display his religious beliefs. I am proud of that officer and applaud him loudly.
