A customer service representative for Adelphia Cable said a network problem was responsible for the loss of approximately six minutes of the UK-South Carolina game Thursday evening.
The spokesperson said the company lost the network satellite feed from ESPN just after the fourth quarter began. She said the signal loss was an ESPN technical glitch and not a result of problems at Adelphia.
"It was out in Richmond as well as Danville and Harrodsburg, and that signal comes in at two different places," she said, declining to be identified. "We had no other signal loss, just ESPN, and our techs tell me it was on the ESPN end."
