Boyle Landmark Trust will hold an open house Saturday at its newly renovated home at 227 Wilderness Road in Danville. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony by Mayor John Bowling at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception.
The trust intends to sell the property, using the proceeds to purchase and restore another historic property in Boyle County.
The trust was founded in 1971 as a non-profit advocate for historic preservation. Cecil Dulin Wallace, founding board president, layed the foundation for the revitalization of the Perryville Battlefield Project.
The trust was dormant for a period of years before being revitalized in 2002 by a group of Danville residents. The trust endeavors to save and put historic structures back into use.
