Pet of the Week for Oct. 22

October 22, 2003

Butch, a very sweet and energetic Jack Russell terrier mix dog, is among the dogs available for adoption this week at the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society Animal Shelter.

Although Butch is missing one of his hind legs, you'd never know it to see him move! He's very lovable and needs a home where he will get plenty of love and exercise.

Among the adult dogs available for adoption are an Australian shepherd mix, a black Labrador retriever, and a Shar-pei mix. Puppies include a neutered black-and-white mix named Beasley, a male rat terrier mix, a spayed black-and-tan mix named Violet, and three sweet and beautiful chow mixes. There is also a wide variety of cats and kittens, which are now tested for feline leukemia.

The adoption fee for both cats and dogs is $60, which includes the feline leukemia test, spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations and de-worming, rabies shot, and dog tag. To view many of the animals available for adoption, check the DBCHS Web site at www.homes4pets.org.
