Halloween Carnival set in Forkland

FORKLAND -The Forkland Halloween Carnival will be 7-9 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Forkland Community Center. The event will feature door prizes, food, cake walks, games and costume judging. Admission is $1 for adults and 50 cents for children; cost is half-price if attendees are in costume.

Haunted theatre open for Halloween

LIBERTY - The Old Haunted Kentuckian Theatre will be open for Halloween. The Brush Creek Volunteer Fire Department will play host to fun seekers as they enter the theatre 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24-25, 31 and Nov. 1 in downtown Liberty.

Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for children 10 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds will be used by the fire department.


Local hospital program completes survey

The Adult Day Health program at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center passed a survey Oct. 16 by the state Cabinet for Health Services/Office of Inspector General. Adult Day Health passed the survey with no deficiencies noted.

"We were pleased to have a successful survey," said Judy Morgan, administrator of the Adult Day Health program. "Our program is surveyed under long term care regulations, which involves a very rigorous survey.

Our success in passing the survey is evidence of the quality services provided by our staff."

The Adult Day Health program is available to adults age 18 and over who require medical care and supervision during the day. Services are available to individuals in Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Lincoln, Marion, Mercer and Washington counties.
