They did it again! The Boyle County Marching Rebels won their third consecutive Class A state championship. They met all the bands in their class from Fulton to Pikeville and have been, once again, declared the best performing, most cohesive, and best playing band in the state. These young people, determined and focused on their goal, met every challenge and attained excellence as affirmed by their new trophy. They are to be congratulated.
These young people, working to achieve a continuing championship mentality, are held in place by a support system that is a marvel to behold. Parents and volunteers supply them with a sense of assurance as they repair what broke, sew what ripped, find what was lost, clean what was soiled, lift what fell, and push what won't move. People who care about excellence do this detail work and as they do these tasks, week after week, each student band member has the opportunity to observe the traits of loyalty, dependability, interest, self-denial, sensitivity, generosity, graciousness, and sacrifice. If one band member encounters a problem, one of these people will find a way to face it, evaluate it, find the options, choose the solution, and move on to the next eventuality.
