This is in response to your editorial in Sunday's paper stating that Ernie Fletcher is possibly the best candidate ever to run for Kentucky governor.
Let me ask this question concerning Mr. Fletcher: Why would someone who has all the titles you claim for him - doctor, engineer, minister, fighter pilot and congressman - want to be governor of Kentucky? How many days after he was elected congressman did he announce his candidacy for governor? Now if he is elected governor, as you think he has the right to be, how long before he reaches for the next step up - Jim Bunning's Senate seat? Sen. Mitch McConnell has plans for "Ernie" and it is not to help the people of Kentucky as governor.
Yes, I believe "Ernie" is a yes man for Bush and a lap dog for McConnell.
Don't ask, I'll tell you: I am one of the best Democrats you will find in Lincoln County after being born into one of the strongest and most stubborn Republican families in Rockcastle County. Thank God for history and facts about the candidates that you can judge if you'll only read facts and do some checking on your own. Don't let anyone or any newspaper tell you how to vote without checking the facts.
