A series of television spots in the 1980s asked the now famous question of “Where’s the Beef?” I now find myself repeating a similar question each time I read an article, hear a commercial, or see an advertisement supporting Dr./Rev./Congressman Ernie Fletcher.
Everything I’ve read, heard or seen speaks of how candidate Fletcher is “a man of integrity, honesty and religious conviction.” That’s fantastic, but what I want to know is where does he stand on the issues facing Kentucky. How will he lower the cost of prescription drugs? What will he do to ensure that our children receive the best education possible? Where will the jobs we need to replace those we’ve lost come from? In short, what’s his plan? These are serious questions, and we need serious answers.
The Fletcher-Pence campaign has used their “dog and pony show” to point out every negative thing that has happened in Frankfort over the last decade and has tried to blame it all on Ben Chandler. Fletcher keeps saying he wants to “change” Kentucky’s government and “clean up” the mess in Frankfort, but like the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, he’s keeping his plan well hidden.
