STANFORD - Firefighters in Lincoln and Casey counties were called to five separate fires late Friday night and early Saturday morning, two of which are suspected to be arson.
Lincoln County dispatchers reported that fire departments from Waynesburg, Highland and Broughtontown were called to three fires between 3:30 and 4:20 a.m. Saturday morning.
Lincoln County Fire Chief Roger Brown confirmed that arson was suspected in a hay bale fire on Pleasant Point Road, Waynesburg. A second fire on OK Schuller Road burned a barn and four acres of hillside. Kentucky Department of Forestry officers were on the scene and reported the fire under control by 10:40 a.m. Saturday.
A residence on Greasy Ridge Road was heavily damaged after a third fire broke out at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Lincoln County dispatchers.
