I would like to thank all the businesses that participated in Halloween Downtown Thursday night. Parents turned out in force with ghosts, goblins and princesses to take advantage of a safe Halloween for their children. This event was started to protect our children from getting candy that was tainted with needles, razor blades, drugs, etc., so that the parents and future citizens of Boyle County would not have to worry.
To the businesses that did not participate, I would be more than willing to donate a bag of candy to you from my pitiful income and would even be willing to donate my time, so that you could participate also. It was sad to see only a handful of business turned out. I intend to keep my money invested in the businesses that participated because they show that they care for the citizens of our county.
This is a big event to help in keeping business downtown in a town that is growing by leaps and bounds. Danville is no longer a sleepy little town, growth is showing daily with new business, but with the attitude of the ones not participating, it shows how much Halloween Downtown really means to them.
