hurt during man's arrest

HARRODSBURG - Jason Pyles, 20, of 409 East Fork Road, was charged after an alleged fight with city police during a traffic stop Friday morning.

Police stopped Pyles' vehicle near Bate Street because he reportedly had been involved in a fight at CITGO. When he stopped the vehicle, he got out and fled on foot, police said. Officers Josh Devine and Jay Eldridge pursued and caught him, but he allegedly resisted arrest, injuring Eldridge's knee.

Eldridge was taken to James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released. Pyles was charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, first-degree evading police, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.


Fire in Lincoln County

threatens to ignite woods

STANFORD - A grass fire shut down Ky. 1778 and threatened to ignite nearby woods Monday afternoon.

According to Lincoln County dispatchers, Station 4 Fire Chief Keith Coffman saw the ditch fire and called dispatchers about 2:30 p.m. County stations 4, 5 and 8 responded.

The state Division of Forestry was called to the scene as the fire edged close to a wooded area and used a bulldozer to contain the blaze.

Dispatchers said arson was not suspected. The fire was under control by 5:30 p.m.

HARRODSBURG - Maurice White, 42, of 214 N. Greenville St., was jailed Friday morning after city police pulled him over for suspected drunken driving.

When stopped, White allegedly struggled with officers while they were trying to handcuff him. He freed his left arm, according to police, and allegedly struck Officer Josh Devine in the face.

Police got control of White, and he was later taken to the Boyle County Detention Center.

Police charged him with driving under the influence of intoxicants, possession of an open container of alcoholic beverage, resisting arrest, third-degree assault on a police officer, and failure to notify the Transportation Cabinet of an address change.

He was released from the Danville lockup Saturday on 10 percent of $4,000 bond.

DUI, resisting arrest charges

HARRODSBURG - Julian Sampson, 38, of 385 Bradley Lane was stopped by Harrodsburg police late Friday night at 955 Warwick Road on property belonging to Hitachi Automotive.

The officers suspected Sampson was driving under the influence of intoxicants.

When asked to sit in a police car, he allegedly struggled with officers. He was charged with DUI and resisting arrest and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center. He was later released on 10 percent of $4,000.

Traffic stop results

in drug charge

HARRODSBURG - Kathy Ingram, 48, of 1466 Battlefield Road, was charged with possession of marijuana early Saturday morning after city police stopped her for alleged careless driving. During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly found marijuana.

Ingram was charged with possession of marijuana and she posted bond before being taken to jail. Officer Josh Devine investigated.|11/4/03***
