LIBERTY - Casey Fiscal Court opened three bids Monday for clean-up projects on four dumps.
C&S Backhoe Service, owned by Robert F. Sheene of Liberty, bid $20,700 to clean up two dumps on Patsy Riffe Ridge and one each on Elmore Hill and Gadberry Hill, according to Deputy Judge-Executive Judy Allen.
Donnie Grider of Liberty bid $33,450, and Donnie Poff Plumbing Co. of Liberty bid $20,300.
The contract will be awarded after representatives from PRIDE (Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment) check out the dumps and go over the bids. PRIDE will handle the project since grants for the clean-up are provided by the agency.
In other matters, Fiscal Court:
* Was asked to consider a $20 to $25 increase in pay for election officers. They currently are paid $75 to work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day. Wright said the officers are underpaid for the time they work.
