Boyle County Middle School students will have a new way to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives beginning this month.
The Step With It! Program challenges students ages 10-14 to take a minimum of 10,000 steps a day to maintain good health through a more active lifestyle.
The program was developed by Coca-Cola in partnership with the National Association for Sport and Physical Education and The President's Challenge Physical Activity and Fitness Awards Program, a program of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
Students are provided "Stepometers," small pedometers, to track the number of steps they take each day. The program incorporates exciting activities and incentives to encourage students to meet their fitness goals. Teachers and school administrators also are encouraged to track their daily steps and participate in the activities with students.
