Centre College running back Lorenzo Engleman has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference offensive player of the week for his performance in the Colonels' 34-28 win last week over DePauw.
Engleman was instrumental in the overtime victory, rushing for 186 yards on 31 carries and a touchdown. He also caught nine passes for 61 yards.
"Engleman has been our go-to guy all year," Centre coach Andy Frye said. "I firmly believe he should be the Player of the Year in our conference. He continues to make people miss and he's got a lot of heart. Blandford was able to get loose for the winning touchdown because DePauw was so intent on stopping Lorenzo."
Engleman is second in the SCAC in rushing, averaging 95.3 yards per game, and third in receiving yards per game at 70.4. The Cincinnati native leads the league in six offensive categories: receptions (67), receptions per game (7.44), all purpose yardage (1,653), all purpose yardage per game (183.7), points scored (74), and touchdowns (12).
