Musicians present showcase concert

The Centre College Music Program will present its annual Fall Musicians Showcase concert on 4 p.m. Saturday in the Audrey R. Gillespie Recital Hall on campus. The event is free.

The concert will feature 16 student musicians performing works by Chopin, Mozart, Scarlatti, Ravel, Bach, Hindemith, Strauss, Mendelssohn, and others.

Student performers include: Jenny Anderson (flute), Davis Cherry (piano), Lisa Cloud (piano), Candace Davis (violin), Emery Denby (baritone), Matt Dillinger (trumpet), Vince Gerrish (trumpet), Jessica Ann Graff (soprano), Meghan Harter (soprano), Ashley Howell (piano), Matt Lane (violin), Kelli McGrath (flute), Leah Newton (flute), Noble Powell (piano), Elizabeth Tammen (soprano), and Karen Wicke (piano). Music faculty member Elizabeth Wolfe will accompany several of the pieces on piano.

Laurence Bitensky, assistant professor of music, says, "The annual Musicians Showcase is a wonderful opportunity for students to share their wealth and variety of talents with the Centre and Danville communities. It is always one of the highlights of the year for the music program, and it is an event that we all eagerly look forward to."
