HARRODSBURG - Old Fort Harrod State Park is hosting its annual Holiday Gala Friday and Saturday.
More than 1,000 luminaries will guide the way on the front grounds of Old Fort Harrod State Park. A candlelit tour of the 18th-century fort replica, complete with furnished cabins, blockhouses and a gift shop stocked with affordable items, is part of the event.
The 19th-century Victorian Mansion Museum contains a Christmas Tree Festival that also features Evergreen, the talking tree. The museum is professionally decorated with evergreens, holly, fruit garlands and magnolia. Santa and Mrs. Claus await all visitors. Carolers will perform Christmas songs.
Gala hours are 6-9 p.m. each evening. Tickets may be purchased at the fort or museum. Adult prices are $3; children 6 through 12 are $2; and children under age 6 are admitted free. For more information, call the park at (859) 734-9614 or 734-3314.
