Arson is suspected in several fires in Casey County and a barn fire in Gravel Switch, state police said.
State police arson Investigator Alex Wesley at Columbia Post has ruled arson after investigations at a house fire last week in Dunnville, a truck and gooseneck trailer fire Oct. 21 in Taylor County, a mobile home fire in Casey, and a barn fire in Gravel Switch.
Wesley said someone apparently set fire to a house owned by Debbie Clements on U.S. 127 near the Casey-Russell County line. The house was heavily damaged Tuesday evening. The vacant house did not have electricity nor furniture. Wesley said the house was for sale and had not been occupied for some time.
A 2003 Dodge pickup and 24-foot goose neck trailer stolen Oct. 21 from Gary Herren of Liberty was apparently set fire at the Arnold boat launch ramp in Adair County. Wesley said hay was found in the cab of the truck and in the trailer. The fire destroyed the truck and trailer.
