DANVILLE - A man who was caught breaking into newspaper vending machines about a month ago was allegedly caught doing the same thing again Saturday morning.
William Followell, 22, of Circle Drive, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday and charged with theft by unlawful taking from a coin machine, a class "A" misdemeanor.
"He had a ton a change," said Danville Police Captain James Monroe.
Monroe says most of the machines broken into were owned by the Herald-Leader. In the previous act of vandalism, Followell had broken into machines owned by The Advocate-Messenger.
Followell is accused of prying open the machine and was able to open the lock that accesses the coin holder. He was found with a large amount of coins, a padlock, and a coin holder tray, Monroe said.
